Introduction To the Cast of The Koala Who Could

Based on the endearing short story by Rachel Bright and Jim Field, The Koala Who Could theatre production is currently touring the UK. An empowering and laugh-out-loud tale about embracing change, this production is all about breaking out of comfort zones and realising that ‘life can be great when you try something new.’ When Kevin, a solitary koala, experiences a life altering event, he turns to a motley selection of characters to guide him through an Australian Outback adventure. With their help he is compelled to step outside his comfort zone and discovers a whole array of new things. Let’s meet the cast who bring this  koala picture book to life on the stage.

 

Danny Hendrix – Wombat/Storyteller 1

This story of friendship is told on stage by talented actors including Danny Hendrix who plays Wombat. Danny graduated in 2014 with a first class BA (Hons) degree in Theatre Arts at the University of Derby and has since racked up a whole array of theatre credits. His latest appearances include 101 Dalmatians the Musical (UK/Ireland Tour), War Horse (National Theatre UK/International Tour) Gangsta Granny (Birmingham Stage Company – West End/UK Tour) and Cinderella (Nottingham Playhouse). Danny is also the main storyteller in The Koala Who Could.

 

Sarah Palmer – Cossowary/Storyteller 2

A graduate of the University of York and Drama Studio London, Palmer brings her extensive acting and puppeteering skills to the stage in this touring production. Her credits include Kity & Poole in Jekyll and Hyde (The Barons Court Theatre), Diana in Anne of Green Gables (Midlands Arts Centre), Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing (Ludlow Assembly Rooms) and Friends Live (UK and Ireland Tour). She also played Betty in the Olivier Award-winning Hey Duggee! The Live Theatre Show (UK/Ireland tour).

 

Christopher Finn – Kevin/Storyteller 3

Talented actor Christoper Finn takes to the stage as the loveable and risk-averse Kevin, who is forced to embrace some of life’s challenges. Having trained at Italia Conti Academy of Dramatic Arts, Finn has gained many theatre credits including A Christmas Carol (Creation Theatre), Paddington Lo-Commotion (Blenheim Palace) and Grimm (SugarPunch). His screen work includes commercials for GiffGaff, Samsung, Regaine and McDonalds.

 

Hannah Miller – Alternate/ASM

Hannah trained at LAMDA and has recently been working with 1927 performing Roots in Japan, China and at Wilton’s Music Hall. Her previous credits include Boxville (Cardboard Adventures), Tall Stories’ Room on The Broom, The Snail and the Whale, The Gruffalo’s Child and The Smeds and the Smoos (West End, Sydney Opera House, UK tours and livestream), The Tiger Who Came to Tea (UK tour) and Adventures in Wonderland.
